2 June 2007 started V International Festival of Sand Sculpture and Land-Art in Kiev.
The topic of this event – “Nevertheless it’s revolving”. The artists present their points of view concerning the place of our small planet in the Universe.
At this festival participated the young artists, sculptors, designers from Ukraine, China, Russia and Belarus. The guest of honor was very famous Ukrainian sculptor Oleg Pinchuk.
For creating all those sand compositions were used about 200 tons of special quarry sand. Moreover, at this festival besides sand sculptures were presented also original design-objects of Land-Art made of different natural and decorative materials. As long as this festival was conducted at open natural place and was open on the eve of International Environmental Protection Day - so, the main topic of art works were the beauty of - of natural phenomenon and elements: Water, Fire, Land and Space. The event lasted one week.
